A place where you can let your creativity go unbound!
We are a very friendly, original medieval/modern fantasy mixed site.
Based in another world where fantasy / supernatural creatures thrive. Ask Midnight any questions.
The year is 2022 people are wary after Kenis was almost killed at a party leaving him badly wounded. Some question if the Moon Kingdom still has what it takes to rule as some seem to have cued in on that notion to take advantage of it.
While that is going on something has been going on with the vampires lately and have seemed to have gone mad with bloodlust more often.
Growing number of ships in the Moon Kingdom's fleet is growing. War coming?

"Well I'll keep watch when we finally stop, I don't sleep much and fire will work to get a little time," Lucio said before waving off the apology. "And don't worry. Creatures like us have to look out for each other right? I haven't meant another elemental in... forever and I'm not even sure what you are besides strong. Hunters are responsible for that so gotta work together against them."
“What’s the point of drinking if not to get drunk or at least tipsy,” Jasper said before wincing a little. “Ah, if that didn’t sound like something my sister would say I don’t know what.” He laughed and shook his head. “And there really isn’t a rush to go back so soon, not if it makes you uneasy. A lot happened with you, so take your time deciding, I’m not going anywhere.” Jasper reached out and gently took Miko’s hand.
“We’ll all be okay. We’ll get all this worked out and work through everything else too. And then she’ll cheer up a bit. I don’t like it when she gets like this either, though she’s being less mean than the last time believe it or not. Why don’t we go fetch her now? She should be cooled off enough if we don’t bring it up again.”
"Glad to hear it" Lucio tried to smile as he drew his hand away in a poor attempt to be comforting. "Now you." He stood up and walked over to Wes. He gave a short warning before starting to do the same for the worse cuts on Wes's body. When he finally finished he stood back and looked between the brothers. "Can you move now though?"
"Ah, I just think she sees herself the older sibling ven if we're twins. Even then I was born first." Jasper shrugged and took the bottle from Miko. "She's putting the dishes up. She told me off for being too relaxed then shooed me out." He took a swig from the bottle.
"And yeah, I really think so. I hardly lose my control and when I do, I'm still very restrained and orderly just different. Both of you have something darker. Think one of the reasons she liked being with that witch so much was because most of her household has problems like that or at the very least volatile personalities. Did she feel safe? I guess? Honestly, I don't know how." he laughed. "But talking later sounds good. We can all just cool down. Not to mention, against all odds Salem might actually wind up the only sober one. She didn't have much at dinner." He took another drink of wine and handed the bottle back
“I don’t really think it’s your fault. Believe it or not she stopped talking about her problems with me a while before we even got to the castle. I still don’t know what she dreams about and honestly I found out about the clawing thing just because we share rooms. She couldn’t hide it then.” He watched Miko take a drink, honestly starting to get a desire to drink himself. “ I think she really stop talking when she tore me up a bit one night. She got really upset about it... it was honestly a mess and she barely spoke for days.” He shrugged and looked at his hands.
“Me dating you isn’t what started her calling me a pet, though it has been a while since she said it. Honestly I’m surprised she said that... it’s, well it’s something that’s pretty charged and I hate it when she calls me that. But I’m the weak one to her and she loves to remind me that I’m the one who let himself get trapped and hurt. I’m soft and can’t fight and the fact I’m lucky makes me a prize to some people. You though, you have a kinda similar problem. Both of you have to fight an aspect of yourselves and if I’m honest you’ll probably understand her better than I ever will. That might be why she was a bit more forthcoming tonight.”
He fell quiet a moment and then held his hand out for the bottle. “Probably. She likes running.”
Salem tensed the moment Miko hugged her and did her best to duck away from the pat. "That's not what I meant! It has nothing to do with you he's just, he's soft." She did her best to explain herself to Miko's retreating figure. When he was gone Jasper stood up as well, starting to collect the leftovers.
"He's right you know. You can't... you have to start talking to us. It isn't like it used to be and I know you're still adjusting, in fact, other than this stuff you've been really good, but we can relax a little now." Jasper paused in stacking the plates to look at her, sighing when she avoided eye contact. "These aren't the street anymore and we aren't training for anything. You don't have to be so ready to fight."
"You don't know that. You're just addicted to peace that isn't there and its gonna get you hurt again. And I'll just be the violent one again" Salem stood up and took the food from her brother. "Go get your prince. I'll put this up. I won't run off again, don't worry"
Jasper hesitated for a moment while Salem simply left him for the kitchen. Letting out a slow breath he went outside to find Miko. "Could have gone worse. Minimal shouting."
“Yeah, sure, I know. I’d just rather fix it myself when I can. Drag’s the one who fixed it last time.” Salem went to pick her fork up again but Jasper grabbed her hand, lifting it up a bit.
“You know. We could also clip your nails... if you didn’t keep them so shar-“
Salem yanked her hand back, ears turning back. “ no. I’m not doing that. They’re important. Just because you don’t know how to fight doesn’t mean you need to declaw me like a pet too.”
Jasper flinched but didn’t say anything, simply taking his hands back. “Just a potion. Okay.”
"I'd rather keep them." Salem looked at her arms, starting to trace the faint marks patterning her left. "And I'll try something I guess. Can't make it worse."
"Hey Sail, is this why you've been going out? So we wouldn't notice or something?" Jasper asked, voice soft. "You hurt your side that way too? You were holding it when you got back."
Salem kept studying her arm, not looking up when she did speak. "So what? I didn't want to bother you and if it wasn't getting so bad I still wouldn't have. Remember last time you tried waking me up? I hurt you... and I really dont wanna do that again. So yeah. If it'll help I'll try something I guess. I'm running out of options..."
Salem huffed and set her fork down before leaning back in her chair. She ran a hand through her hair and closed her eyes as if thinking. "They're about a lot of things. And they always seem to last forever and I wake up to the smell of blood every night. Usually, because I really am bleeding after clawing up my arms in my sleep. All these scars aren't from fights or anything."
"You said that stopped for the most part."
"Yeah well I've always been a good liar, ya know!" She snapped before seeming to regret it and settling back in her chair. "And it had stopped for a while. Only picked up again a few days before we left the palace. That's why I don't think a potion will work either. Sure I won't remember the dream but I'll still wake up panicked and sick. It's stupid and I hate it."
Jasper watched her for a moment before shaking his head. "I still think we should at least try. You've never tried potions before."
Salem nodded and went back to eating. At first, it seemed like she hadn't heard Miko before she sighed and shook her head. "Doubt it would work but thanks I guess. They aren't... well." For once Salem looked truly uncomfortable about a topic, starting to chew on her lip as she pushed food around on her plate. "They aren't how they used to be... they're worse." She wouldn't look at either of the men at the table as she spoke, clearly tense about the topic.
Jasper took a slow bite on his food, watching his sister before sharing a quick look with Miko. All he knew was that this was a rare bit of honesty and that poking the wrong buttons would just turn it from a talk to a fight. That said he was never quite sure when the buttons would change for his sister.
"Thank me when we get out of this mess," was Lucio's response. He knelt down next to Nate and let the tips of his fingers catch fire. He concentrated until the flame was the right temperature and kept close to his fingers instead of flicking freely. "Sorry about this," he said before placing his hand on the wound. Carefully he dragged the fire across it, sealing it shut and trying to ignore the smell of burning skin.
Jasper gave a soft laugh before grabbing the rest of the food and bringing it over with Miko. "If you sleep too much now you won't be able to sleep tonight."
Salem sat up fully and groaned softly. "Yeah, I'll stay up for a bit. And it's not like I sleep well anyway." She reached forward to put on of the steaks on her plate and then potatoes and salad, poking it around a little before eating a potato.
"Nightmares again?" Jasper asked softly as he got his own food. When Salem didn't answer and just kept eating he looked up at her pointedly. In return, she just shrugged and then pointed to the food.
A drowsy ‘same’ was all Salem managed before sitting down and yawning again. Slowly, she laid her head on the table, the only sign she wasn’t falling back asleep being the twitch of her tail.
Jasper watched her before giving a little shrug to Miko. “Well I’m excited to try it. I’ll help you bring in the food since Salem set up the dishes. Oh! And we have wine too, Sail”
“Yeah... I saw. It’s literally right here.” Salem lifted her head again to point at the bottle her brother had placed. “Not that out of it.”
"Alright then. And sit down, both of you. Passing out would be the worst thing right now. I'll take care of your brother's side first, and while I do that," he paused the wriggle out of his shirt, handing it to Wes, "Think you can tear this up? It'll save time but no pressure."
"Cottage in the woods it is then. A nice place for my new buff partner in life and we can just set Salem free in the woods." Jasper joked. He lingered by Miko's side a moment longer after their kiss before roaming the kitchen to find the wine. Once he had the bottle he carried it over to the table and searched for the plates next.
As he stacked a few in his arms there was the sound of a door opening and a few moments later Salem slunk into the kitchen. She looked between the men for a brief moment before scooping up the plates from her brother and silently starting to set the table. "Smells good," she yawned when finished.
"Alright then. First things first, how high is your pain tolerance? We don't want any shouting to draw more attention and burning shut a wound hurts like hell." Lucio took a slow step forward as he talked, getting a better look at the brothers' wounds. "Also better prioritize which wounds need sealed fastest and what can just get wrapped up."
Hearing about how close the hunter could be was doing nothing to help Lucio's resolve to stay though he did his best to hide it. That said, his senses were on high alert now and he almost had to hold back jumping even when a breeze stirred up a few leaves.
"Good. And I know guilt like that doesn't just disappear, but hopefully, it won't stick around forever." Jasper smiled again before nodding at his suggestion. "A small glass would be okay. Never been one for more than that." He quickly finished cutting everything and then dumped it together in a large bowl.
"And don't give me too much credit. I like living in houses far too much to have ever liked sleeping in trees." Jasper laughed and walked over to be beside Miko. When he was sure it wouldn't distract him, Jasper leaned in to give Miko a quick kiss.
“Would you believe me if I said we lived in the woods a month when we were just starting to grow into our powers. Salem loved to hunt and sleep in trees but that was about it. She can’t take the quiet for too long.” Jasper laughed and started to cut up the washed vegetables. The smell of the steak was getting stronger and he was suddenly aware of how hungry he really was. He briefly wondered if the smell would draw Salem out before he’d have to fetch her.
“Your father also seems to care about your wellbeing. I’m sure if it’s his decision, he’s let you do what makes you happy. Especially if it means less destruction to his kingdom.” He chuckles at Miko’s joke and shook his head. “Wild stallion? And here I am. A simple house cat in over his head.” Jasper laughed and then was quite for a moment before looking over at Miko. “By the way, you know I don’t blame you for any of that right? No matter what anyone else says, I’ll always trust you Miko.”
Lucio studied Wes for a short moment, taking in the different wounds and the knowledge he had a brother with him as well. His instincts urged him to for get his offer and just ditch them, it was too dangerous to have dead weight here, but he pushed the feeling down. He wasn’t one to go back on an offer even when he was better off changing his mind. At least when the offer wasn’t to a human or low mortal creature.
“I don’t have much for healing supplies... but I know how to cauterize. That’ll stop the bleeding but definitely won’t try that on your head. I can tear up my shirt and wrap it. Other than that I’m only good for burning things, might keep them back a bit if they attack you again.”
Lucio tensed as he finally saw what he was dealing with. They weren’t a hunter by the looks of it and he slowly relaxed the longer he looked at them. The person looked half dead and pretty harmless at the moment. Or at least they weren’t on the attack.
Making sure not to move suddenly, Lucio stood up and put his hands out in a passive gesture. “Whoa, hey... are you okay? Well no, guess not. Need help?”
